About Us
Orkestra Darul Ta'zim (ODT) was officially managed by NAQIBNAIM PRODUCTION (NNP) in 2020. Established since 2012 based in Johor Bahru. This community orchestra consists of nearly 200 musician & students with the youngest members aged 3 to 35 years old who are able to play musical instruments especially stringed instruments such as violin and viola.
Based on the talent and potential of young people, ODT serves as a platform for children and teens to discover and polish their talents in music, especially orchestral music.
Since it began to operate, ODT has received numerous invitations to give performances in and around Johor, such as Concert Payung Mahkota (2017) in collaboration with Yayasan Warisan Johor, Drama Festival Kuala Lumpur 2018 (DFKL), and many more. In addition to being active in the state of Johor, ODT has collaborated with the Sri Temasek Orchestra in Singapore since 2016 until now.
In 2019, ODT represented Malaysia and won the silver medal at the Indonesia Orchestra and Ensemble Festival in Jakarta. It is the largest orchestral festival in Southeast Asia. ODT is still actively partnering with various universities, including Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).
Despite the limits imposed by the COVID-19 epidemic, ODT stays committed to developing the abilities of young people in Johor Bahru. ODT has opened a music academy since 2020 under NNP. Recently, students who are also members of ODT have made an orchestral performance to accompany legendary singers Dato Jamal Abdillah, Ella, Anuar Zain, Misha Omar, Datuk Ramli Sarip , Ayai Ilusi ,Dato Fransisca Peter ,Rahmad Mega, Dayang Nurfaizah and many more.
